An acute gout attack following parathyroidectomy

Gout is an arthritis characterized by the deposition of monosodium urate cyristales in the joints because of chronic hyperuricemia. Infections, intravenous contrast materials, acidosis, trauma, surgical interventions can be counted as common causes of acute gout attack.
